Short answer: Lots!
Longer answer: here's a an estimate of the annual savings on a 3.68kW system:
Estimated annual production from the roof is typically between 2500-3200kWh for this sized system (depending on how sunny the year has been, the orientation of your panels, any shading, and so on), so for the sake of this answer, let's say 3000kWh
A typical battery backup & solar combination like this will usually capture around 85%+ of that 3000kWh, so, on the cautious side of this back-of-the-envelope maths, let's say you capture 80% or 2400 kWh of "sunshine energy" annually from your rooftop.
At today's electricity prices of roughly 50p/kWh of electricity, 2400kWh is roughly £1200/year saving.
So if electricity prices stayed the same over the next 20 years, you'd save around £24,000. Taking into account that the inverter might need replacing by then, a £20000 saving over 20 years is a very rough approximation of your total savings.
A 6.4kW system, assuming you'd be using 80% of the energy produced from the Sun, would have nearly twice that figure
Bear in mind, if your panels are spread across more than one roof, or if there's shading, your usage, or energy prices change, then these rough estimates will be very different!
Solar PV systems typically require minimal maintenance, as they have no moving parts. However, it is recommended to have your system inspected annually by a professional to ensure that it is performing optimally. This may involve cleaning the solar panels and checking the connections and wiring.
With additional work, it is possible to power your home during a power cut. If this is something you're interested in, tap on the "GET QUOTE" button on this page, and let us know in the optional message section.
When we install your Sunsynk inverter, it comes with a datalogger that you can access via a web page, or mobile phone. All the relevant info about your battery's charge, how much your home is using, and how much power is coming off the roof will be displayed via your own web account.
